This instruction contains the processes to conduct assessments and obtain and maintain airworthiness approvals of air systems throughout their lifecycle, enabling safe operations throughout the DAF.
Subject to the exceptions identified in paragraph 3.6, this instruction applies to all air systems that the DAF owns, leases, operates, uses, designs, or modifies. DAF policy requires that DAF organizations that meet this applicability ensure airworthiness assessments and approvals occur prior to first DAF flight.
