What this publication covers

This publication compliments DAFI 91-202 and assigns responsibilities to individuals or functions to help commanders manage their safety and health program, ensuring they comply with OSHA, Department of Defense (DoD), and DAF guidance. This publication provides uniform guidance, which safety staffs and commanders may supplement when additional or more stringent safety, fire prevention and health criteria are required.

What changed in this edition

This document is substantially revised and must be completely reviewed. Major changes include adding the applicability to the USSF and clarifying and reinforcing requirements for Process Safety Management, which is now its own standalone chapter, Chapter 33, Process Safety Management (PSM) of Highly Hazardous Chemicals. Additionally, it includes creating a new Chapter 34, Additive Manufacturing Safety, for 3D printing, major changes to Chapter 12, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), regarding inspection criteria for material handling equipment, implementing required changes to confined space requirements recommended and mandated by the Air Force Audit Agency
