While this instruction provides procedures for handling airspace matters, additional procedures and criteria to supplement those contained herein may be set forth in other directives and should be consulted. If cases of conflicting guidance arise, the applicable senior document must take precedence.

This instruction applies to the DON, the CNO, the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), and all DON installations, commands, activities, field offices, and organizational entities associated with all airspace (i.e., special use or terminal airspace assigned or delegated to the DON by the FAA). While this instruction provides procedures for handling airspace matters, additional procedures and criteria to supplement those contained herein may be set forth in other directives and should be consulted. If cases of conflicting guidance arise, the applicable senior document must take precedence.
