This instruction establishes policies and procedures for the validation and governance of Naval Oceanography enterprise (NOe) data, data standards and architectures. In addition, it establishes the roles and responsibilities of the NOe Data Governance Board (DGB). This board oversees the governance of naval meteorological and oceanographic and position, navigation and timing data and data standards. The NOe DGB will operate in alignment with higher-level oceanography and data governance policies, including references (a) through (c).
