The Marine Corps body composition standard is a waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) of 0.52, regardless of sex — stricter than the Army's 0.55 and than the 0.55 in the Secretary of War memorandum. Two things make the arithmetic different from every other WHtR calculator on the web: waist and height are each rounded down to the nearest 1/2 inch before you divide, and a ratio of exactly 0.52 is in standards — only a ratio that exceeds 0.52 is flagged.
Published in MARADMIN 066/26 paragraph 6. Use your recorded height and waist — each already rounded down to the nearest 1/2 inch. A waist at or below the figure shown is within standards.

MARADMIN 066/26 · signed 2026-02-26, paragraph 6:
“The Marine Corps WHtR standard is <0.52, regardless of sex. The following table represents this standard and accounts for the rounding down of WHtR measurements. Marines shall use the rounded and recorded height and waist values, per paragraph 3.d.1. and 3.d.2., when determining if a Marine is within standards.”
Exceeding WHtR is not by itself assignment to the Body Composition Program. It triggers a body fat evaluation by the multi-site tape test or bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA); only a Marine who exceeds body fat standards by both methods is processed for BCP.
