What this publication covers

This instruction implements DAFPD 36-26, Total Force Development and Management, and prescribes the policies and procedures for establishing and conducting the ANG Retention Program which includes the Career Motivation Program (CMP) (retention interviews), ANG Incentive Program, the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB), Education Benefits, the Unit Career Advisor (UCA) program, and other positive motivators to retain qualified and experienced personnel commensurate with unit manning requirement. Unit commanders have overall responsibility for the retention in their units; however, the day-to-day operation of administering the programs contained within this instruction are the responsibility of the Retention Office Manager (ROM) and can be delegated from the RR Senior Enlisted Leader (RRSEL) to the RR Non-Commission Officer (RRNCO).
