This publication has been substantially revised and needs to be completely reviewed. Major changes include incorporation of provisions relating to the USSF, a new series control number (the publication control number was renamed “90-161” and now implements DAFI 90-160 rather than DAFI 33-360), and incorporation of detailed procedures previously found in DAFI 33-360, Publication and Forms Management. This publication clarifies delegable language for major commands (MAJCOMs) and field commands (FLDCOMs) for tiering in Table A10.1 and expands guidance on lead commands. For ease of recognition, SAF/AAIP will be referred to as the Air Force Departmental Publishing Office (AFDPO) throughout this manual. AFDPO is now a mandatory coordinator for departmental-level publications. This includes policy directives (through the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force (SAF/AA)) as well as DAF, USAF, and USSF instructions, manuals, etc. This Department of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) includes clarification on publication processes and specific information related to various publications. It also removes catalogs, directories and product announcements as publication types and defines roles and responsibilities of process participants.
